Where do we come from ?: goodbye to the Family Book

Do you remember the phrase that said: "girl, and who are you from?" It is surely as old as the traditional Family Book, which has its days numbered. Times are changing and now it seems much more important to think about where we are going than where we come from.

A friend of mine told me after hearing the news: it was about time! And to me that they didn't want to give it to me for being a single mother? Well, rejoice, because from now on, those problems are over, which many assumed as discrimination. The family tree, which is so important to some families, is not lost. It is carried in the heart, in the blood, in the ties, in education and in times shared and generously given to loved ones.

With the adaptation to the new times it is true that the family disappears from the law and 50 years of history is ending. But, in return, an individual record will be built for each person who, since born or since acquiring the nationality, you are assigned a "personal citizenship code". In the new individual registration certificate, which will be linked to a personal code, all the events that affect you will be registered only from the civil point of view, without taking into account the personal or social. The creation of a single Civil Registry will avoid queues to register our children and will allow us to access an electronic database to consult our data Anytime, anywhere. The personal data will appear on the computer screen and we will avoid having to go to the registry in person, except in extraordinary cases.

The single and electronic Civil Registry aims to unify the more than 8,000 registries scattered throughout the national geography and obtain the certifications in any of the official languages of each autonomous community. But, for now, we will have to go through a "transitional regime" for its entry into force.
